Dear Marengo Families,

Welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope summer has given your family the opportunity to rest, relax, and spend time with friends and family. Our Marengo staff and I are looking forward to Tuesday, August 15th, when we will greet all of our new and returning students with warmth and excitement. 

As principal, my goal is to support the thriving programs and practices we have in place that foster our students’ wellbeing, creativity, positive character and academic growth. This includes an emphasis on writing instruction and continued practice in applying strategies from our social emotional learning curriculum (SEL), Second Step. Our staff and I look forward to partnering with you as we continue to cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture.

The custodial team has been very busy preparing for our return to campus. Everything is coming together as they deep clean and organize all of the classrooms and office spaces. We are grateful for their hard work in getting our campus ready for the new school year. 

Our dedicated PTA has been working all summer to get ready for the school year! Planning and preparation for Marengo traditions and events are already underway. Please make sure to mark your calendars for our monthly general PTA meetings on the first Wednesday of the month. There are many new faces on the PTA board and we’d love to have you join us.

We will welcome some new members to the Marengo team and will also see some teaching assignment changes. We are finalizing the 2023-2024 staffing, so be on the lookout for the details. Together, we can make this school year one of growth and achievement for all of our students. Warmest wishes for a wonderful year!
